Library News 1989-90

The Library at present holds a total collection of 29,900 books and 10,250 bound volumes of various technical magazines accumulated over the last 41 years.

Six book bank schemes including social welfare book bank schemes in the library are in operation. This year the Library has received the following capital grants for modernization of Library from the Ministry of Human Resources Development, (Dept. of Education), Govt. of India, New-Delhi.

1) Direct Central Asstt, Lib (Degree) 2) Direct Central Asstt, Lib.(Diploma)
Rs. 15 lakhs. Rs. 2 Lakhs.
Eighty percent of these grants would be utilised for the purchase of books and periodicals and the balance towards the purchase of 1) PC/AT Computer and 2) Modi Xerox machine with reduction and enlargement facility.

The Library has also procured Educational Video cassettes and Audio Cassettes. Some furniture also will be added in the Library.
MR. S.A.N. Inamdar, Asstt. Librarian, attended this year the following:
(1) Winter School on Library Computerization sponsored by I.S.T.E. at S.J. College of Engg. Mysore.
(2) Conference at Ahmednagar, sponsored by Maharashtra Rajya Maha-vidylayin Granthalay, Mahasangha. Mr. V.B. Mahabal, Asstt. Librarian, attended a Conference at Ahmednagar
