Library News 1985-86
The Library at present holds a total collection of 32,022 books ( collection of 23,725+8297 from eight Book Bank Schemes), 10009 bound volumes of Indian and Foregin periodicals on Technical subject, accumulated over a period of nearly 39 years. Presently the library subscribs to 100 periodicals both Indian and foreign Technical Subjects.
Six Book Bank Schemes are in operation in the Litrary. Classwise book sets are issued to students on the basis of merit. These students can keep and use these sets for the entire semester on payment of a small fee.
Under the Book Bank Scheme sacn-tioned by the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Maharashtra, class-wise sets of books are issued free of cost to Scheduled cast and Scheduled Tribes students,
The library works from 8.00 am to 12.00 night. At the time of examination of Degree and Diploma in both the semisters and study library section is kept open on Saturdays and sundays and on Holidays also from 12,00 noon to 6.00 pm for all students for their study.
In addition to the reference and Home issue section the library has a study section where 100 students can sit and study.
The library has provided facility to fifty out side readers working in the differ-ent factories and industries in and around Sangli to refer books and periodicals in the reference section.
