1) General Departmental News

a) A two day workshop was conducted on 17th & 18th September 2000. This was organised by Shri. B. V. Pawar and Shri. S. N. Kore

b) An industrial visit was organised at VSNL, Ani & GMRT, Khodad on 6th February 2001 for the students of T.E. (Electronics) class.

c) Testing & Consultancy Work :Shri. V. B. Dharmadhikari offered his consultancy services to Instronics Ltd. on Soft start Motor.

2) Paper published / Conference attended
1) Mrs. S. D. Apte
a) A paper titled 'LPG trajectory based speech model using wlnelet transformers' is published in the conference proceedings of the International conference on mathematical modelling helf in Roorkee University, Roorkee during Jan. 29-31, 2001.
b) A grant of Rs. 4.10 lakhs is recieved for the research project titled 'DSP design for FMCW Radar' from ARDE, Ministry of Defence. New Delhi - Principal Investigator - Mrs. S. D. Apte

2) Prof. (Smt.) R. S. Patil
a) Coopted Member of Board of studies (electronics) for Post Graduation in Electronics of Shivaji University.
b) Elected as Member for faculty of Engineering and Technology of Shivaji University. Appointed by Vice chancellor as chairman for Adhoc Board of Electronics and Telecommunication of Shivaji University.
c) Worked as Chairman for AICTE inspection Committee for starting new courses / Institutes in Gujrath State. Worked as member for the DTE inspection committee for starting new courses in Maharashtra State.e)
d) paper selected : A paper entitled 'Abnormal ECG detection by different wavelet families' by prof. (Smt.) R. S. Patil, S. G. Tamhankar and Dr. J. G. Ghodekar was selected for presentation for the National conference NCCN-2000 held at Anna University, Chennai during May 2000g)
e) Accompoined the Educational Tour of T.E. (Electronics) students for satellite earth station and GMRT hear Narayangaon in Feb. 2001 Received permanant recognition as a teacher for teaching Post Graduate Course in Computer Science & Engg. by Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

ELECTRONICS (Polytechnic Wing)
1) Seminars / Summer / Winter School • Mr. P. W. Kulkarni attended a two week summer school on 'Automation in Industrial Process Control' sponsored by AICTE-ISTE at 1 111 Chandigarh in July 2000. • Mr. P. B. Patil is also attended the above summer school at 111I, Chandigarh.

2) Any other activities An Educational Tour of final year D.I.E. class was arranged during 1-1-2001 to 7-1-2001. The students visited various industries in and around Mysore and Bangalore. They also visited ISRO satellite cnetre, Bangalore & INSAT Master control facility at Hasan. Staff members shri. A. A. Agashe & shri. P. B. Patil accompanied the students. Local visits were arranged to AIR Studio & LPTV transmitter station at Sangli & Tung for T.Y. (DIE) students.
