Mech Dept News 1994-95
A grant of Rs.7.5 Lakhs has been sanctioned by All India Council for Technical Education for modernization of IC Engine Laboratory.
Prof. S. S. Malu will work as Chief Co-ordinator for utilization of the above grant. A post diploma Course in foundry Technology has been started from August 1994. Ten student have taken admission to this course.
The work utilisation of Direct central Assistant of Rs.10 Lakhs sanctioned for Machine dynamics laboratory is in progress. The grant of Rs. 7 Lakhs sanctioned from Development Reserve Fund of college for additional computer facility was fuly utilized and six number of PC 386 machines and one 486 PC machine have been purchased.
A separate P.C. Laboratory started functioning in the deptt. with total 9 no. of P.C. Mainly available for diploma and degree Computer practicals.

P & T Centre
Design, Development of heat transfer laboratory equipments for A.I.S.S.M. (All India Shree shwa ji Memorial society's College of Engg. Pune) at Dr. J.J. Magdum College of Engg. Jaysingpur was successfully completed by Prof. N. K. Sane and Shri. V. K. Joshi.

1) lndustrial Visits arranged for B.E. (Mech) 'Tool Engg' subject at -(a) Menon and Menon industries - Kolhapur. (b) Kirloskar Bros. Ltd. Kirloskarwadi, Prof. A. V. Deshingkar and Shri. M. Y. Khire accompanied the students.
2) Educational Tour of B.E. (Mech) Class was arranged at M/s. Vasantdada S.S.S.K. Ltd. Sangli. Prof. S. P. Chavan and Prof. G. D. Bhide accompanied the students.
3) Prof. S. P Kulkarni and Mr. V. K. Joshi both are developing a Maize sheller unit as a commercial product for Agricultural field under P & T centre of Mech. Engg. Deptt. of this college as a P & T Activity.
4) Educational Tour of T.Y. (Mech) class was arranged at Bangalore, Mysore, Outy. Twenty nine students participated in the tour. Shri. D. G. Dahake accompanied the students. 5) Educational tour of S.Y. (Mech) class was arranged at M/s. Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. Kirloskarwadi, Shri. D. G. Dahake and D. B. Kamble accompanied the students.
