Electrical Dept News 1990-91

M.E.(Electrical - Control System) Vocational Course was started during May 1990 and first batch of S students was admitted. All equipments worth Rs. 50 Lakhs were purchased from direct central assistance from Govt. of India. This adds to the potential for testing and consultancy work which has been steadily increasing. The work of procurement of equipments from last years 7.5 lakhs Direct Central Assistance is in progress.

A 11 KV seperate feeder for our college from Vishrambag Receiving Station was laid and was put into service from 20th November 1990. This feeder is expected to maintain continuous supply for the college even on Tuesday.

PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT :
Shri, V. N.. Bapat selected for Ph.D. work at Kharagpur and has been deputed under Quality Improvement Programme.

EDUCATIONAL TOUR :
One day short trip to Radhanagari Generating Station and Mudshingi Sub-station, Kolhapur for T.Y.(Electrical) class was arranged on 11-10-1990.

M.E. DISSERTATION :
Shri. S. M. Ainapure guided the dissertation of Shri. G. D. Kamalapur of Control System on A Novel Approach to 3-Phase High Power Servo Drive ' and was submitted to Shivaji University in February 1991.

LECTURES DELIVERED :
• Prof. Dr. H. P. Inamdar delivered a talks on Progress of Indian Science ' and Vaccume Cleaners ' on A.I.R., Sangli.
Prof. S. D. Patil delivered lecture on Microprocessors ' for B.E.(Electrical) Part-I students at College of Engineering, Karad.
 
PROMOTIONS/APPOINTMENTS :
Shri. D. S. More joined as a lecturer on Polytechnic Wing, has been tempararily taken on Degree side.
• Shri. S. V. Kadarn joined as a lecturer on Degree Side from 15th June 1990.
• Shri, N. G. Savgave joined as a lecturer on Polytechnic Wing from 1st June 1990. * Shri. J. Y. Mane joined as a lecturer on Polytechnic Wing on Ad-hoc basis till 30th April 1991 from 1st August 1990.
• Shri. A. P. Vaidya joined as a lecturer on Degree Side from 16th June 1990 on a temperary basis.
