1) General Departmental News

As usual department conducted Diploma In Computer Science, a part time course, approved by Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

2) Achievements of persons

a) Shri. D. B. Kulkarni received a grant of b) Rs. 7 Lacs from AICTE under R & D project titled 'Fractal Video Coding' Expected Procurement - (i) HP Pavilion 9703 (ii) SUN Workstation.

b) Shri. A. G. Naik and Shri. M. H. Bhide participated in software development required for F.E. Admission 2000-2001.

c) Shri. M. H. Bhide worked as a resource person for the Internet Course conducted by Library of this institute.

d) Shri. R. G. Jere, Shri. K. S' Jadhav, Shri. R. S. Sarode and Shri. M. H. Bhide worked as an external examiner for various examinations conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Examinations, Mumbai.

3) Summer / Winter School
a) Shri. D. L. Pandhare attended the short term course titled 'JAVA PROGRAMMING’
b) Shri. J. G. Kanitkar attended the Short term courses titled `VRML’

4) Lectures delivered
Shri. D. B. Kulkarni & Shri. j. G. Kanitkar delivered lecture on E-Commerce at Rotary Club, Ichalkaranji.

5)Promotions / Appointments / Resignations /Retirements etc.
Dr. P. J. Kulkarni is appointed as PRINCIPAL of this institute and Shri. S. M. Deshpande became in-charge, Head of CSE department.

Shri. D. L. Pandhare resigned and joined at V.S.N.L. Cochin and Shri. J. G. Kanitkar resigned and joined at Bangalore based company.

6) Infrastructural Enhancement
1) procured Pentium-III @ 800 MHz computer system and licensed software -Novell Netware 5.0 from the grant received from AICTE under MODROB for 'Network Library' .
2) CD writing facility made available to this institute with nominal charges
3) Linux Laboratory is setup.

CENTRAL INTERNET FACILITY
Internet access facility provided to the students via dialup connection and about 10 nodes are setup in Central Library Building.

Internet access facility is provided to the students in Cyber hostel.

Students & faculty of department extended co-operation in maintaining the internet facility.
