Computer Dept News 1995-96

The Department has purchased a tablet and a 486 DX-2 motherboard. This motherboard is used as a new server for Novel Netware Ver 3.12. Number of terminals of computer network has been increased to 17 by purchasing few Ethernet cards.

The following hardware / software upgradations for the systems in the department are under consideration and are likely to be installed in the near future.
1. PENTIUM, 100 MHz, 32MB machine.
2. 486 D x2 with integrated multimedia.
3. SCO open server Release 5 enterprise system.
4. ORACLE.
5. BORLAND c++ 4.5, Visual c++ 4.0 and visual FOXPRO
6. A user node of ERNET / NICNET with connectivity to INTENET.

Summer/Winter Schools Attended /Papers Presented :

(a) Attended a winter school on 'Rural Network' at 1.I.Sc. Bangalore.

(a) Presented a paper on pattern Recognition at College of Engg. & Technoloty, Bhatinda.
