1 Staff activities

a] Dr. S. V. Ranade has been awarded the Doctorate degree on the successful completion of his thesis by I. T. T. Kanpur.

b] Prof. Gole wrote a text book on Introduction to Civil Engineering for F. E. Students. As per the new syllabus of Shivaji University, this is the only book available on the subject.

2 Papers published and seminars attended and lectures delivered

a] prof. Santpur and Prof. Sakhadeo presented two papers in Co-authorship with Prof. Brahmnalkar at National Seminar on Ground Water and Lift Irrigation at College of Engineering, Roorkela.

b) Prof. Subba Rao presented paper at Seminar on 'Water Pollution Control at Inst. of Engineers. Hyderabad.

c] Prof. Brahmanalkar attended Seminar on Sediment problems in Civil Engi-neering at I. I. T.. Kanpur.

d] Prof. Sakhadco, Talathi and Salunke attended Seminar on Rural Housing and Village Development at Thigara-jan College of Engineering, Madura; ( Tamilnadu ).

e) Prof. Ramchandre attended Seminar on Building Science and Technology at I. I. T. Delhi.

I] Prof. Brahmnalkar delivered lectures as guest speaker to Diploma Students at Kolhapur Polytechnic on " Soil Mechanics. "

3 Invitation to the Staff Members to work on the Various bodies
a] Prof. Brahmanalkar was invited to act as member of Study Group on Lift Irrigation of Panchagnga Co-op. Sugar Factory.

b] Prof. Joglekar was invited to act as Co-ordinator by Administrative Staff College for courses on PERT-CPM and management technics for govern-ment officers.
