My name is Hemant Abhyankar, BE Elect -71 Batch.

I did work with WCE, till 1984, in various teaching positions n later switched over to private-self financed institutes. Kept on visiting WCE, in various official capacity, once in 2/3 months, till last year( before COVID-19).

I’ve also been closely associated with, first with legal establishment & then, running of Association of Past Students of WCE ( earst while called as New Engg College), Sangli. With our continued efforts, the college admin. accepted our proposal to fix up the second Saturday of every year to be official annual alumni meet day and it was observed so for a complete decade.

This year we can not meet in Sangli, due to pandemic, however current officials are planning to meet at my residence, on Saturday, 9th Jan 2021. Due to our continuous efforts, led by Virkumar Savant, BE C-71, we could contact 167( out of 189) ‘71 batch mates. O/O 167, 34 hv departed to heavenly abode n rest are on one WA Group.

My young alumni friends are joining me, now, to give a fresh look n dynamism to our official alumni (APS-WCE) website, already set up and maintained so far, as heritage website, by Hon’ble Prof (Dr) SV Ranade, Dnyanadeep Foundatio, Sangli. Kindly bear with me, I’ll remain in touch and would respond frequently.
